Taking the First Step
When you suspect you might be pregnant, feeling many emotions, like worry, confusion, and maybe even excitement, is normal. If you’re unsure about your at-home results or haven’t tested yet, the first step toward clarity is a reliable result.
At Ohana Health, we offer no-cost, confidential clinical pregnancy testing so you can get accurate results and begin making informed decisions.
Why Professional Testing Matters
At-home tests can be convenient, but they aren’t always accurate. Testing too early or not following the directions exactly can lead to false negatives or positives.
Our registered nurses use clinical pregnancy testing that detects the pregnancy hormone hCG with a higher level of precision. If your result is positive, a nurse can also provide a pregnancy verification form, which may be required for insurance, Medi-Cal, WIC, or other programs.
When to Test
The Mayo Clinic recommends testing at least one or two days after a missed period for the most accurate results. Testing first thing in the morning can improve accuracy because urine is more concentrated.
If your test is negative but your symptoms continue, we encourage you to return for a repeat test after a few days.
Next Steps After a Positive Test
A positive pregnancy test is only the beginning. Our team can review your medical history and, if eligible, schedule a no-cost limited ultrasound to verify important details: how far along you are, whether the pregnancy is progressing, and its location in the uterus.
These details are critical for protecting your health and understanding all your options, whether parenting, adoption, or learning more about abortion.
